A gloriously pulpy, classically painted cover dripping with golden-age adventure energy! A wild-eyed, powerfully built feral man fills the centre of the frame — long dark hair whipping back in the wind — leopard-print loincloth — bare chest and muscular arms flexed — body twisting mid-leap — one hand gripping a thick vine rope at the upper right — the other arm thrust outward — and directly below him: a massive snarling black gorilla — mouth wide open — fangs bared — one huge arm raised — the jungle canopy a lush green behind them both. Silver-age-style speech bubbles flank the image: “Though the world may mock John Clayton, the timid teen-ager… it will soon marvel at the awesome might of… The Lord of the Jungle!” INTRODUCING APE MAN badge in blue at the upper right. Dynamite and DM logos at the lower corners.
A great pick for Dynamite Entertainment fans, Tarzan enthusiasts, pulp adventure collectors, and first issue hunters. Homage copy. Light wear, good shape.
