Comics attitude at its most maximalist! The composition is a dynamic downward-angled power pose — Purgatori dominates the entire frame from the upper centre to the lower foreground — crouching forward and downward over her fallen prey. Her signature look rendered in rich warm tones: deep red skin — long flowing black hair streaming behind her — small curved gold horns at the temples — pointed ears — glowing white sclera eyes with no pupils — lips slightly parted in a predatory expression. Her costume: a deep crimson bikini-style outfit — a gold cross necklace at her throat — blood dripping in vivid red streams from her chest and costume downward toward the foreground — black gauntlets at her forearms. Her massive black bat wings spread wide in the upper half of the cover — membranous and dramatic — filling the frame edge to edge against a warm purple-grey rocky background. Below her: the victim — a blonde woman — on her back — eyes rolling back — mouth open — Purgatori’s hands gripping her shoulders — a skull-shaped belt buckle at Purgatori’s hip prominent in the foreground. Biggi © 21 / After Alter & McFarlane at the lower left. PURGATORI in large gothic red and grey lettering at the top. ISSUE THREE in white below. CHAOS! and DYNAMITE logos at the lower right. RATED TEEN+ at the bottom.

A great Halloween shelf piece and collector’s item for Purgatori fans, Chaos!
