A hauntingly beautiful, deeply atmospheric first issue cover! A teenage girl stands alone at the centre of the frame — short dark hair — orange zip-up jacket open over a black graphic tee — denim shorts — black leggings — backpack slung at her side — body language caught between exhaustion and dread — staring upward into the pale grey void above her — and below and around her — her shadow spreads outward across the ground in a massive dark radiating starburst pattern — reaching in every direction like cracks in ice or the limbs of something alive — and to her lower right — crouching low in the shadow — the silhouette of a twisted, gnarled creature — watching. Spare, elegant, and genuinely unsettling. SHADECRAFT rendered in large dark brushstroke lettering across the top.
A great pick for Image Comics fans, horror readers, and anyone who loves a beautifully composed supernatural YA-adjacent thriller first issue.
