A luminous, emotionally charged cover that perfectly captures the wonder and vulnerability of the High Republic era! A young Force-sensitive child fills the centre of the frame — small and slight — dressed in a deep burgundy and dark blue Jedi-style tunic — a Jedi symbol embroidered at the chest — arms slightly outstretched — body surrounded by a swirling cocoon of radiant white-blue Force energy — the light flowing outward in great curving ribbons through the deep purple cosmic space around them — and pressing in from the right and upper edges: a cluster of massive dark crimson alien pod-creatures — fleshy — spotted — reaching and looming toward the figure — while in the distant background at the lower right: the faint blue glow of a planetary surface and a lone tower’s light. One With the Force in elegant serif lettering at the lower left. The Star Wars: The High Republic masthead in the classic gold ornate box at the top. Serene, mythic, and beautifully composed.
A great pick for High Republic era collectors, Star Wars Marvel completists, and fans of the new era of Star Wars storytelling. Fourth printing of this key first issue. Bonus Digital Edition. Light wear, good shape.
