A stunning, cinematic cover dominated by brooding tension! Thor strides forward in the lower left — jaw set, eyes hard, winged helmet gleaming — Mjolnir gripped low at his side — Balder the Brave stands to his right, head slightly bowed in solemn resolve — and looming massively behind them both — a colossal dark silhouette with enormous curved horns and glowing green eyes — fur-rimmed shoulders swallowing the fiery red sky. Ominous, mythic, and breathtakingly rendered by Coipel at his very best.
A great pick for Straczynski-era Thor run builders, Olivier Coipel art fans, and anyone who loves a bold mythological Marvel cover. From the acclaimed JMS Thor run that redefined the character for a new era.
