The composition is wide and epic — set on a dramatic rocky outcrop in a dense prehistoric jungle. At the centre: Wolverine in his classic brown and tan costume — claws extended on both hands — body low and coiled — crouching on the rocky ledge in a defensive stance — facing off against an armoured figure at the right — the villain in dark blue-grey tactical armour with a hose or cable running from the suit — body airborne and kicking outward toward Wolverine — the two figures caught in a dynamic mid-combat freeze frame. At the lower foreground: a dark-haired woman face-down on the rocky surface — collapsed or fallen — dark hair fanning outward. In the upper left background: a dense jungle canopy in warm ochre and green washes — and rising through the mist above: the massive dark silhouette of a Tyrannosaurus Rex — jaw open — prehistoric and ominous. Additional shadowy jungle warriors with spears visible in the right background. Mignola © 1989 signature at the lower right. WOLVERINE in large white hand-lettered title at the top. the jungle adventure in elegant script below.
